2011 ASBA Annual Conference

Join hundreds of Arkansas school board members for board development activities and networking during the 2011 Annual Conference of the Arkansas School Boards Association.

The conference will be held December 7-9, 2011, at the Peabody Hotel and Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. Featured speakers include the Gentlemen of Knowledge from Rivercrest High School; Arkansas Teacher of the Year Kathy Powers; Education Commissioner Dr. Tom Kimbrell; former ASBA President and former State Board member William Fisher; and Governor Mike Beebe. Jim Slaughter will conduct an early bird workshop on parliamentary procedure (additional registration fee) on Wed., Dec. 7. The workshop provides three board training hours.

The Peabody Hotel is offering a single room discount rate of $135 for conference attendees. Please advise the hotel when making reservations that you are with the Arkansas School Boards Association annual conference. Hotel reservations may be made by calling 501.906.4000 or 800.PEABODY. Hotel reservations must be made by November 16, 2011.

Online registration is now available. To register online, superintendents and their secretaries may click here. You may pay by credit card or select "company check" if you wish for ASBA to invoice your school district. We will mail registration forms soon. These may be submitted instead of using the online registration, if you prefer.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO SUPERINTENDENTS AND SUPT. SECRETARIES: When registering online, use your school district e-mail address. The screen you should see after you enter your district e-mail address and click "go" will show all of your board members' names with check boxes next to them for your ease of registration. If after logging in you do not get the screen showing all of your board members, you are not using an e-mail address in our system. Please immediately call Michelle Burgess at the Arkansas School Boards Association at 1-800-482-1212 for your name and e-mail address to be added to our database. If one of your board members is not on the list, please let Michelle know so he or she may be added to our system.
