Benton County School of the Arts Application Dead Line: April 2, 2008 Salary Benefits: negotiable based on work experience and licensure Position description: The Superintendent/Principal is the leader of the district in every sense of the word. There exists a wide range of responsibilities that run from the day to day operation of kindergarten through grade eight building to the financial management of a multi-million dollar budget. The administrator will serve as the ex-officio secretary to the 7 member board of directors and will plan for a monthly meeting of the board to address policy and report on the general financial standing of the district. The administrator will supervise a staff of 40 members consisting of instructional and administrative personal. The administrator/Superintendent will serve as the liaison to the parent teacher’s organization and will work closely with the parent support groups to further the mission of the school. The administrator will also serve as the point of contact for the Benton County Charter School Organization, Inc.; the founding organization and the holder of the charter under which the school operates. The administrator also serves as the lead PR person for the district in contact with the community and other local educational agencies. Job Requirements: A minimum of a Master’s degree in educational administration with advanced or doctoral level preparation preferred. Candidate should have experience in both building level and district level management responsibilities.
