The ASBA Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2024 Scholarship Award Program. Since its inception in 1994, our foundation has granted scholarships based on students' academic achievements and leadership potential. All scholarships are one-time awards.

ASBA Freshman Scholarship

  • $2,500 award
  • Four high school seniors
  • Enrolling in two-year or four-year higher education institutions
  • Eligible recipients: sons, daughters, or legal wards of publicly elected Arkansas school board members who have served on their local board during the 2023-2024 school year.

Marshall Hughes Memorial (Freshman) Scholarship

  • $5,000 award in honor of the former Beardsley Public Finance employee
  • Overall statewide freshman scholarship winner
  • Eligible recipients: sons, daughters, or legal wards of publicly elected Arkansas school board members who have served on their local board during the 2023-2024 school year
  • Selected from Freshman Scholarship applicants

J.K. Williams Memorial Scholarship

  • $2,500 scholarship in honor of former ASBA Executive Director J.K. Williams
  • Eligible recipients: board members or their spouses, as well as sons, daughters, grandchildren, or legal wards of publicly elected Arkansas school board members who have served on their local board during the 2023-2024 school year
  • Must be college juniors or higher
  • Pursuing a degree in the field of education at an institute of higher education
