New online courses from the Summer 2025 New Board Member Institute are now available in AR Board Ed!
Whether you're newly elected or a seasoned board member, the New Board Member Institute offers essential training to support effective governance. These updated courses include key changes from the 2025 legislative session not yet covered in previous trainings.
By completing the New Board Member Institute online courses, board members can earn up to 6 hours toward their annual training requirement, including the state-required audit report, school safety, and student discipline training for new board members.
New Courses:
New Board Member Institute (Full Day) – 6 Hours – $185
School Board Governance (Presented by Jeff Lisenbey) – 1 Hour – $50
Roles & Responsibilities in District Finance and Audit Training (Presented by Robyn Keene) – 1 Hour – $50
FOIA / Executive Session / Ethics (Presented by Jay Bequette) – 1 Hour – $50
School Safety & Student Discipline (Presented by Kelli McNeill) – 1 Hour – $50

Please note: If you attended the New Board Member Institute on June 17 (in person or virtually), you are not eligible to retake the course online for additional credit. Likewise, if you complete the full 6-hour online course, you cannot earn extra hours by taking the individual one-hour sessions separately.

Important Information:
Courses and Credits: Please note, you can earn credit for each course only once. If you complete the full-day training, you cannot receive additional credit for the same sessions taken separately. Check back often as we will continue to add to our course offerings!
Sign Up: It’s recommended that users sign up and register for courses themselves. This ensures information stays secure and allows users to become familiar with the platform.
