January 2026 has been declared School Board Member Recognition Month by the Arkansas State Board of Education, and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has issued a proclamation recognizing the service of Arkansas school board members.
This year’s theme, “Answering the Call,” honors school board members who step forward to lead and make decisions that guide Arkansas schools and support student success. Throughout January, districts are encouraged to recognize board members for answering the call to serve students, schools, and communities.
We are happy to provide the following resources to help districts recognize their board members:
Customizable Canva graphics:
500 x 250 px (Ideal for cover photos, presentations, marquees) - Includes slides for 5-member and 7-member board spotlight
1080 x 1080 px (Ideal for social media posts or to download and add to your own designs)
Explanation of School Board Roles for Parents & Community Members:
Arkansas school board members serve at the heart of their communities, and January is an opportunity to thank them for their commitment and leadership. Districts are encouraged to share their recognition efforts and use the hashtags #SchoolBoardRecognitionMonth and #AnsweringTheCall.
